SafePlus Assessments – A new approach to understanding your business
WorkSafe NZ has introduced a new health and safety improvement toolkit for businesses. Known as SafePlus, this assessment process aims to lift the performance of workplace health and safety in New Zealand businesses by evaluating their current performance and providing recommendations on how to improve.
First 4 Safety Ltd.’s Managing Director Greg Dearsly is an Accredited SafePlus Assessor.
Organisations need to know what is really going on in their business, so they can understand how to improve productivity, provide a degree of business confidence about their performance and boost their reputation as an employer of choice.
What’s different about a SafePlus Assessment?

SafePlus uses a diagnostic and evaluative approach to engage with the business and its workers to assess,
worker practices,
behaviours and attitudes,
perceptions,
beliefs and values
the culture of the organisation
SafePlus is made up of 10 performance requirements that are fundamental to achieving good health and safety performance. These requirements have been developed from internationally accepted good health and safety practice and tested in industries in New Zealand. They are organised into three core concepts: leadership, worker engagement and risk management and are underpinned by continuous improvement.
